AmeriZinc

IMETCO is proud to bring you AmeriZinc™ - the only zinc mined and produced in America exclusively for the construction industry!

Since the early 19th century, zinc has been used as a preferred roofing material throughout the world. Zinc’s popularity in the United States continues to grow due to the material’s natural beauty, sustainability and longevity.

Now with AmeriZinc, available exclusively from IMETCO, this exquisite material is mined and produced right here in the United States! AmeriZinc is:

  • Timeless
  • Attractive
  • Formable
  • Durable
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Low maintenance
  • Self-healing
  • Environmentally friendly

AmeriZinc’s longevity as a building material is measured not in years, but generations; zinc roofs that are hundreds of years old are still in use. A natural metal, AmeriZinc retains its beauty over its entire life span. It is pre-treated for immediate aesthetic appeal (available in Glacier Gray and Onyx Black) AmeriZinc continues to develop is blue-gray patina as it ages.

AmeriZinc’s flexibility and formability make it an ideal material for a variety of design styles and manufacturing techniques. Since its natural patina creates a durable, corrosion resistant surface, AmeriZinc is a long-lasting material that is suitable for most climates.

In addition to being non-corrosive and environmentally-friendly, AmeriZinc is virtually maintenance free; zinc’s self-healing nature can even make scratches disappear over time. As a fungistat, AmeriZinc resists mold, mildew and fungus, but its runoff is “clean” and will not harm desirable vegetation like other exotic metals can.

In terms of recyclability, AmeriZinc not only has extremely high recycled content (more than 30% comes from recycled or secondary zinc), but it is also 100% recyclable and has a high scrap value.
